Action for Kids employees are involved in the community beyond the typical work day. Volunteer projects have included:
Contributing to
a local school’s paper recycling efforts which raised over $500 for their
Science Lab
Providing
experiences for teenagers obtaining their community service hours
Donating clothes
and toys to local infants and children
Sponsoring
families of children with extensive needs during the holiday season
Providing seminars for career training to
local schools
Donating to local and national
organizations including the Down Syndrome and the Autism Project, Lions
Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Kiwanis, and Guardian Angel Home of Joliet
Promoting breast cancer awareness
Sponsoring a day-long clinic for children
with Down Syndrome
Providing opportunities for college
students to shadow therapists and to present to the therapeutic staff
Co-sponsoring 5K run to benefit a local
school district
Providing free developmental screenings for area children
