Action for Kids employees are involved in the community beyond the typical work day.  Volunteer projects have included:

• Contributing to a local school’s paper recycling efforts which raised over $500 for their Science Lab
   

• Providing experiences for teenagers obtaining their community service hours
   

• Donating clothes and toys to local infants and children
   

• Sponsoring families of children with extensive needs during the holiday season
   

• Providing seminars for career training to local schools
   

• Donating to local and national organizations including the Down Syndrome and the Autism Project, Lions Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Kiwanis, and Guardian Angel Home of Joliet
   

• Promoting breast cancer awareness
   

• Sponsoring a day-long clinic for children with Down Syndrome
   

• Providing opportunities for college students to shadow therapists and to present to the therapeutic staff
   

• Co-sponsoring 5K run to benefit a local school district
   

• Providing free developmental screenings for area children
